Manufacturing freight transportation — USA & Kenya

Inbound raw materials and outbound finished goods on a schedule your production line can rely on.

Manufacturing freight transportation you can rely on

Manufacturers depend on two flows of freight: raw materials and components coming in, and finished goods going out. A late inbound load can stop a production line, and a missed outbound delivery can cost a customer. Gelle Transport provides manufacturing freight transportation built around production schedules, dock appointments and clear communication.

Manufacturing freight in the United States

From our Kansas City base we run full truckload and LTL freight for plants across the Midwest and beyond, including recurring inbound supply runs, plant-to-warehouse transfers and finished-goods distribution. Dedicated capacity is available for manufacturers with predictable weekly volumes.

Exporting manufacturing cargo from the USA to Kenya

Many US manufacturers sell machinery, spare parts and finished products to buyers in Kenya and East Africa. We collect from your plant, prepare export documents, and ship by air for urgent spare parts or by ocean container for machinery and volume orders to Mombasa.

Compliance and handling

Machinery and parts exported to Kenya may need a KEBS Certificate of Conformity under the PVoC programme. We check requirements before your goods leave the plant.

How to prepare your freight

Palletise and stretch-wrap freight; keep pallets within standard 48×40 in footprints where possible.
Provide accurate weight, dimensions, pallet count and freight class to avoid re-weighs and reclassification charges.
Share dock hours, appointment requirements and any liftgate or residential needs when booking.
Label each handling unit and include a bill of lading with shipper, consignee and special instructions.

Documents you will need

Requirements depend on what you ship, but most consignments to Kenya need the following:

  • Commercial invoice — description and value of every item
  • Packing list — itemised contents, weights and dimensions
  • Bill of lading or air waybill — issued for the main transport leg
  • Importer’s KRA PIN — the receiver’s Kenya Revenue Authority PIN
  • Certificate of Conformity — for goods covered by the KEBS PVoC programme
  • ID / passport copy — of the shipper and receiver

Regulated goods (food, medicines, chemicals, vehicles, some electronics) may need extra approvals from the relevant Kenyan agency. Ask us before you buy or ship. See our guide: documents required to import goods into Kenya.
